Job Summary:

The Senior Medical Director sets the overarching strategy and governance framework for how Medical Affairs engages internal and external stakeholders, including HCPs, KOLs, professional societies, and advocacy groups. This individual ensures KOL engagement activities across Field Medical Affairs, Medical Communications, Patient Advocacy, and R&D are coordinated, compliant, and aligned to a unified medical narrative. The Senior Medical Director provides senior medical/scientific leadership on priority stakeholder relationships.

Job Description:

External representation at the portfolio level
•    Act as the senior medical representative of Dompé in cross-indication external forums — major congresses, professional society leadership meetings, and multi-stakeholder coalitions — where portfolio-wide scientific credibility matters more than any single asset
•    Build and maintain relationships with external bodies that don't map to a single indication (e.g., regulatory science forums, guideline committees, patient coalition umbrella groups), representing Dompé's overall medical position
•    Serve as the escalation point when external stakeholders raise cross-portfolio questions, ensuring a unified response rather than separate answers from individual Indication Leads
•    Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure external medical messaging is consistent with Dompé's broader scientific reputation and positioning


Engagement strategy and governance
•    Define the enterprise-wide medical engagement strategy and stakeholder mapping framework
•    Establish governance standards for KOL engagement, advisory boards, and scientific exchange
•    Ensure all engagement activities meet compliance, legal, and regulatory standards


Stakeholder leadership
•    Provide medical/scientific leadership on key strategic insitituions and build relationships with priority portfolio level Key Opnion Leaders
•    Partner with Field Medical Affairs, Medical Communications, Patient Advocacy, and R&D to ensure coordinated execution
•    Advise senior leadership on engagement strategy risks, opportunities, and emerging stakeholder needs
•    Serve as a senior medical voice in relationships with professional societies and guideline committees


Insight capture and strategic feedback loop
•    Establish a consistent process for capturing engagement insights (from advisory boards, KOL interactions, and scientific exchange) and feeding them into evidence generation and communications planning
•    Report engagement trends and stakeholder sentiment to the Medical Affairs Leadership Team and broader leadership teams on a regular cadence
•    Identify emerging scientific or competitive themes surfaced through engagement and flag implications for medical strategy

Qualifications:

Required
•    MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent advanced clinical/scientific degree
•    8+ years in medical affairs, with direct experience in stakeholder or KOL engagement
•    Strong understanding of compliance frameworks governing HCP interactions
•    Demonstrated strategic planning and cross-functional leadership experience
•    Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with external experts

Preferred
•    Prior experience in a field medical or medical director role
•    Experience across multiple regions or countries
•    Track record designing engagement governance frameworks

Base Salary: $290,000 -$300,000 a year

At Dompe, we offer an attractive compensation package to our team members. Any offer would include a competitive base salary (estimate shared above), incentive bonus, and benefits package customary to the position. Actual individual pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
