YOUR ROLE AT DOMPÉ

 

The Associate Director/Director, Market Planning reports to the Sr. Director, Commercial Strategy and Operations. This person will be responsible for developing strategies and driving projects that expand Dompé’s Ophthalmology business. 

Strategic marketing, analytical, problem solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills are required.  Below is a list of key responsibilities:

 

  • Above all, play the role of strategic partner throughout the organization. Work closely with the Sr. Director of Commercial Strategy and Operations to support the US Commercial organization, helping drive strategic clarity across the team to enable all to maximize impact. 
  • Own the long-range forecast model. Maintain and update a prevalence-based model while continually exploring new approaches to maximize the effectiveness of our forecasting capability. Leverage necessary forecast models along with decision analysis methodologies to make strategic commercial choices regarding our strategies.
  • Design primary market research, and in some cases conduct expert interviews under CDA, to inform the commercial strategy. Manage consulting teams through extensive due diligence assessments as needed.
  • Maintain and update the commercial competitive intelligence (CI) landscape. Partner cross-functionally to align on assumptions that will be the foundation for competitive planning.
  • Develop and track KPIs in partnership with Marketing and other cross-functional leaders. Function as a key partner to the US Oxervate Marketing and all of commercial. Work closely with the team to manage market research, provide strategic partnership, and understand and measure effectiveness of commercial effort. 
  • Develop scientific expertise in anterior segment diseases of interest including neurotrophic keratitis and understand product and customer landscape.
  • Partner with the Oxervate Lifecycle Team (LCT) and throughout the organization as needed. Be the Sr. Director’s delegate on the LCT. Perform commercial market assessments on Ophthalmology BD assets and internal pipeline assets to identify market drivers and potential. Leverage public information, commercially available reports, internal medical resources, and conduct primary market research to inform the analysis.
  • Launch support / strategy for potential future assets as needed including market sizing, demand planning, and market insights development.
  • Work with US and global team to identify innovation projects that help meet ophthalmology and Oxervate customer needs and drive internal coordination for development and implementation
  • Frame your output and effectively communicate results.  A key skill set will be the capability to frame various options and tradeoffs that are able to be used for decision making across functional teams.

YOU COULD BE THE PERFECT FIT IF YOU HAVE:

 

  • 9+ years work experience in business development, strategic consulting, or other analytical work in the pharmaceutical, biotech or related industries
  • 5+ years experience working internally for a biotechnology/pharmaceutical company in marketing/market planning or other commercial function
  • 7+ years working in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry
  • MBA or other related graduate-level degree is preferred with an undergraduate degree in science or business
  • Product launch experience
  • Experience in a “start-up” or small company environment preferred

 

SKILLS YOU’LL NEED FOR SUCCESS: TECHNICAL

  • Exceptional analytical skills, including the ability to triangulate various sources of information 
  • Strategic agility and a track record of delivering insights to drive decision making in a drug development context
  • Excellent professional written and verbal communications skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to frame problems and leverage data in a way that supports a shared knowledge base and good decision making
  • Experience developing Excel-based models and quantitative analysis, and delivering output to drive executive team decision making

$175,000 - $235,000 a year

At Dompe, we offer an attractive compensation package to our team members. Any offer would include a competitive base salary (estimate shared above), incentive bonus, and benefits package customary to the position. Actual individual pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
