YOUR ROLE AT  DOMPÉ 

The Sr. Director, Marketing Brand Lead reports to the Vice President of Global Marketing and will be a critical member of the U.S. organization supporting Dompé’s breakthrough therapy, the first and only ophthalmic biologic product (Oxervate) for patients suffering from neurotrophic keratitis (NK), a rare and progressive eye disease. Oxervate’s primary customers are eye care providers (ECPs) who are managing and treating patients with NK which include the Optometrist (OD), General Ophthalmologist (GO), and Cornea Specialist (CS).  

 

The Sr Director, Marketing Brand Lead will be responsible for developing and executing the overarching brand strategy and brand plan for Oxervate in the US which includes branded and disease state marketing focused on growing the prescriber base and the number of patients receiving Oxervate as well as increasing overall disease awareness for NK. This individual will have a team of two marketers reporting to them (Director – HCP Marketing and Sr. Manager – DTP Marketing). In partnership with their team, the Marketing Brand Lead will collaborate with agency partners and internal stakeholders to develop a comprehensive marketing plan and tactics that meet the needs of the three ECP prescribing segments and potential Oxervate patients.   

 

The ideal candidate will have a proved track record of successfully working in cross functional teams, will be self-motivated, and excited for the opportunity to evolve the brand’s value proposition fueling sales growth and contributing to the company’s next phase of development and its mission to commercialize innovative products that improve the lives of patients around the world. 

 

Preference for a Bay Area or Orange County, CA based candidate but open to remote work for right individual. 

 

 The core responsibilities of the Sr Director, Marketing Brand Lead include: 

  • Lead team of two marketers (Director - HCP Marketing and Sr. Manager – DTP Marketing) providing direction, guidance, and career development opportunities. 

  • Partner closely with Sales Leadership and Vice President of Global Marketing on the brand strategies and brand needs/resources. 

  • Work closely with the VP Global Marketing on annual brand planning (including campaign refresh, competitive readiness, etc.) 

  • Partner closely with the insights and analytics team to co-create market research tools that will provide insights to drive business decisions 

  • Collaborate with field marketing and other support functions to align brand strategy and understand brand needs (e.g. disease state, market access, speaker bureau, DCT2C)  

  • Prioritize brand resources development, management, PRC approval, and reporting metrics for resources deployed in the field  

  • Represent the company and collaborate on brand strategy with Field Marketing for National Ophthalmology and Optometry conferences annually 

  • Develop brand advocacy and solicit feedback from the KOL community through ad boards, 1:1 interaction and, ATU management 

  • Partner with Field Marketing in the strategy development and execution of symposium, speaker bureau and congress materials through appropriate PRC approval channels and availability for the field. 

  • Develop and implement a segmentation strategy. Work with market insights team to understand the needs of each ECP type. Perform segmentation and targeting strategy to optimize outreach efforts and deliver segment specific messaging. Partner with digital marketing to develop and execute multi-channel tactical plan to execute on growth strategy. 

  • Collaborate with insights team on patient journey project to inform future DTP strategies and tactics. 

  • Design, launch, and measure pilot programs focused on lower decile ECPs. Identify innovative strategies and tactics for increasing productivity of these customers. Assess partner vendors and construct pilots to test and measure impact. 

  • Broaden disease education campaign and brand materials to reach patients. Lead the refinement of existing disease awareness strategy, campaign, and accompanying tactics to appeal to a patient audience. Raising awareness of key attributes of NK to encourage patients to “ask their doctor.”  

  • Plan and execute Commercial advisory boards with ECPs. Partner with field marketing and specialist marketing teams to identify needs and requirements for commercial advisory boards. Develop content and structure, while working with field marketing to recruit advisors. Manage vendor with logistical needs for all commercial advisory boards. 

  • Conduct market research and synthesize insights across commercials functions. Partner with insights team on market research efforts to help answer key business questions. Work with cross functional team to define scope of research and select and manage market research agencies to execute and synthesize insights.  Combine existing and new insights to further the understanding of customer segments across marketing teams.  

  • Collaborate with a Great Team: Work cross-functionally and compliantly across marketing, sales, and market access, and PRC to ensure resources and communications are meeting the needs of customers (internal & external) and identifying new opportunities to improve the customer experience.

YOU COULD BE THE PERFECT FIT IF YOU HAVE: 

  • A bachelor’s degree, MBA, or master’s level degree a plus  

  • 12 years or more of pharmaceutical, biotech, med device (or broader healthcare) commercial experience (with at least 5 years in marketing roles) 

  • Experience leading and developing a team 

  • Experience managing external vendors including agencies of record (AORs) 

  • Recent ophthalmology experience a plus, ideally in anterior segment 

  • Experience in developing and implementing product and/or disease education campaigns 

  • A proven track record of self-driven results-oriented work history 

  • Understanding of various vehicles for creating insights and understanding behaviours and needs of target audiences  

  • Self-starter that can readily take action on challenges with an appropriate level of planning 

  • Demonstrated understanding of pharmaceutical legal and regulatory requirements and material approval process 

  • Experience with cross-functional review committees and presenting to senior leadership is required 

  • Experience working with global teams a plus

$260,000 - $285,000 a year

At Dompe, we offer an attractive compensation package to our team members. Any offer would include a competitive base salary (estimate shared above), incentive bonus, and benefits package customary to the position. Actual individual pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
