Job Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President, Global Marketing, this newly established role will collaborate closely with all key commercialization functions (e.g regulatory, R&D, etc.) to shape and execute the go-to-market strategy for the launch of a rare disease therapy targeting Non-Arteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy (NAION)—a condition characterized by sudden loss of blood flow to the optic nerve.
NAION represents a strategic late-stage program that Dompé has prioritized for accelerated development. As Senior Director, Commercialization Lead, this individual will serve as the commercial lead on the Core Program Team, driving critical commercial deliverables and strategic input to support both the design and execution of the registrational clinical program and global launch readiness.
Key responsibilities include shaping early commercial strategy through insights on patient segmentation, competitive differentiation, and value proposition development—ensuring optimal market access, adoption, and commercial success downstream.
This high-impact role offers significant visibility across the organization and the opportunity to influence the success of a pivotal program within Dompé’s pipeline.
Essential Funtions:
- Establishing and expanding the therapeutic market for patients affected by NAION and the eyecare professionals who treat them, while defining the evolving landscape of treatment options available to support vision preservation and recovery
- Developing and supporting education efforts related to the company, disease, mechanism of action, and other key subjects
- Leading prelaunch planning and execution, including establishing a cross-functional team and driving plan development
- Identifying and coordinating participation in industry events including scientific and medical meetings
- Supporting cross-functional effort to develop scientific communications platform for the drug and NAION
- Building brand identity in concert with branding agency and internal cross-functional team
- Partner closely with Market Access to define value proposition and ensure optimal reimbursement and payer coverage
- Creating and building effective TPP plans
- Experience taking a product all the way through commercialization to launch of product
- Driving integrated strategic and tactical plans for key customer/stakeholder segments to prepare for and support successful product launch
- Leading development of healthcare provider campaign, Omni channel efforts, and specific communication tools; inclusive of defining data requirements
- Experience leveraging digital and AI technologies to maximize efficiencies of marketing activities, campaigns, etc.
- Overseeing primary and secondary market research efforts (qual and quant, multiple formats) to ensure data-informed decision making around brand strategy and tactics
- Establishing, deepen, and maintain customer and KOL relationships in partnership with CMO, clinical operations, medical affairs / strategic customer engagement groups
- Experience leading and developing teams
- Serving as a comprehensive resource for senior management with respect to NAION
- Collaborating with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Clinical, R&D, Technical Operations
- Traveling 30% (or more on occasion) of your time; yet dependent on candidate location
Experience and Education:

• You are a brand strategist and execution machine with (ideally ophthalmology or rare disease) experience, with a talent for building high-performing teams
• 10 years of experience with product commercialization, at least 8 years’ experience with pharmaceutical/biotech marketing
• A divergent thinker interested in challenging the status quo
• Demonstrated fluency with product launches, particularly rare disease or ophthalmology programs
• Relevant professional experience in operating companies in the biopharmaceutical industry which may include marketing, sales, strategic marketing
• Prior experience in ophthalmology or rare disease therapeutic area is strongly preferred
• Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to articulate commercial position in a cross- functional setting
• Ability to work collaboratively with others across all functions and levels within the organization
• Excellent organizational skills and comfort with multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

$270,000 - $320,000
At Dompe, we offer an attractive compensation package to our team members. Any offer would include a competitive base salary (estimate shared above), incentive bonus, and benefits package customary to the position. Actual individual pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
