Job Summary
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) – Biotech is a hands-on HR leader who will partner with global biotech employees to deliver high-impact people solutions. Reporting to the Global Head of Human Resources Biotech, this role requires a seasoned HR professional who can operate at both the advisory and tactical level—contributing to the evolution of HR programs and processes while also owning execution across a dynamic and growing population.
This individual will serve as a primary HR point of contact for the global biotech team employees and managers (1st & 2nd line leaders), with deep accountability across employee relations, performance management, management coaching, talent development, and change management. The ideal candidate brings strong commercial stage biotech or pharmaceutical HRBP experience, sound judgment in sensitive employee matters, and the ability to build trust and credibility with leaders at all levels of the organization.

Essential Functions
Employee Relations
• Serve as the lead on all employee relations matters for the supported population, including conducting and managing workplace investigations from intake through resolution and documentation.
• Partner with Compliance and external employment counsel (legal) as needed on sensitive, complex, or high-risk investigations, ensuring thorough, fair, and legally compliant processes.
• Advise and coach managers on progressive discipline, performance concerns, workplace conduct issues, and conflict resolution; make discipline and corrective action recommendations grounded in company policy and employment law.
• Monitor employee relations trends and proactively identify systemic issues; recommend policy updates, manager training, or process improvements to reduce risk and strengthen the employee experience.
• Educate managers on legal practices, acceptable workplace behaviors, and appropriate counseling methods; build manager capability to handle day-to-day ER situations with confidence.
Performance Management & Compensation Review
• Provide input on the continuous improvement, and strategic evolution of Dompé’s performance management framework, including competency-based goal setting, feedback check-ins, and annual reviews.
• Lead the end-to-end execution of the annual performance management cycle for the global biotech employees and managers, ensuring consistency, fairness, and alignment with company objectives.
• Assist in the annual compensation review and promotion process for the supported population in close partnership with HR leadership and global colleagues, including merit increase calibration, pay equity adjustments, and promotion recommendations.
• Ensure managers are equipped with the tools, templates, and coaching needed to deliver meaningful performance feedback and conduct effective development conversations.
Management Coaching & Leadership Development
• Provide 1st and 2nd line management coaching for global biotech leaders, serving as a trusted advisor on people management challenges, team dynamics, and leadership effectiveness.
• Coach managers through difficult conversations, team restructuring, role transitions, and talent decisions; build leadership capability at all levels.
• Identify leadership development needs and partner with the Biotech HR lead and global HR colleagues to deliver targeted coaching, training, or mentoring interventions.
• Support new manager onboarding and development, helping first-time and newly promoted leaders build foundational people management skills.
Talent Attraction, Development & Engagement
• Support talent development efforts for US employees and managers in partnership with fellow HR team members.
• Contribute to succession planning, talent review, and high-potential identification processes for the supported population.
• Support employee engagement initiatives, including survey administration, action planning, and follow-through; use engagement data to inform HR strategy.
• Support recruiting efforts as needed by participating in candidate interviews at the request of hiring managers or for screening purposes, and by partnering with external search firms when engaged to ensure alignment on role requirements, candidate profiles, and Dompé’s culture and values.
Change Management
• Contribute to the design of change management initiatives, including organizational restructuring, new process rollouts, system implementations, and cultural transformation efforts.
• Drive the execution of change management plans within the supported population, including stakeholder analysis, communication planning, resistance management, and adoption tracking.
• Act as a change agent who helps leaders and teams navigate transitions with clarity, empathy, and practical support; ensure employees understand the “why” behind organizational changes.
Experience & Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a related field required.
• 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of 5 years in an HRBP or HR generalist role supporting the commercial.
• Demonstrated experience leading workplace investigations and managing complex employee relations matters independently.
• Proven experience owning the execution of performance management cycles end-to-end, including compensation review and promotion processes.
• Track record of coaching and advising 1st and 2nd line managers on people management, performance, and leadership effectiveness.
• Experience supporting global or matrixed populations, ideally in organizations with European locations.
• Experience in high-growth environment where scaling process and infrastructure is required.
• Strong working knowledge of US federal, state (particularly California), and local employment law.
• MBA, JD, Master’s in HR/OD, or other advanced degree strongly preferred.
• SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent HR certification strongly preferred.

Base Salary: $137,000 - $171,000 a year
At Dompe, we offer an attractive compensation package to our team members. Any offer would include a competitive base salary (estimate shared above), incentive bonus, and benefits package customary to the position. Actual individual pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
