Job Summary:

The Associate Director, Data Governance & Master Data Management is responsible for supporting and helping lead the U.S. Commercial Data Governance and Master Data Management (MDM) capability. This role serves as a business owner for commercial master data domains, governance processes, data quality standards, stewardship programs, and cross-functional data policies that enable trusted, compliant, and scalable data-driven decision-making.


Reporting to the Senior Director, Commercial Data Strategy & Operations, this leader partners closely with Commercial Strategy, Commercial Operations, Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Patient Services, Analytics, Compliance, and Information Technology to ensure commercial data assets are governed, standardized, and optimized to support business objectives.
This role will establish the foundation for a customer-centric commercial data ecosystem by creating governance frameworks, stewardship processes, master data standards, and data quality programs across HCP, HCO, payer, patient, product, and organizational data domains.

Essential Functions:

Master Data Management Leadership
•    Serve as business owner for commercial master data domains, including HCP, HCO, payer, customer, product, and organizational hierarchies.
•    Define and maintain enterprise master data standards, business rules, hierarchies, and data ownership models.
•    Establish and lead the Commercial Data Stewardship Program.
•    Develop and maintain master data lifecycle processes, including onboarding, maintenance, validation, and retirement.
•    Partner with IT to ensure MDM technologies and platforms align with commercial business requirements.


Data Governance
•    Design and implement the Commercial Data Governance framework.
•    Establish governance councils, operating models, and decision-making forums.
•    Define data ownership, stewardship responsibilities, escalation processes, and governance policies.
•    Create governance standards supporting commercial analytics, CRM, omnichannel engagement, patient services, and market access operations.
•    Ensure governance practices balance compliance requirements with business agility.


Data Quality & Stewardship
•    Establish commercial data quality standards, KPIs, and monitoring processes.
•    Develop scorecards and reporting that provide visibility into data health across commercial domains.
•    Lead root-cause analysis and remediation efforts for recurring data quality issues.
•    Partner with business stakeholders to prioritize and resolve data-related risks and opportunities.
•    Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase trust in commercial data assets.


Cross-Functional Partnership
•    Partner with Commercial Strategy and Analytics teams to ensure data supports forecasting, segmentation, targeting, and performance measurement.
•    Collaborate with Commercial Operations to maintain accurate roster, alignment, and customer data.
•    Work closely with Marketing and Omnichannel teams to support customer engagement and campaign execution.
•    Partner with Patient Services and Market Access teams to support patient, provider, payer, and specialty pharmacy data needs.
•    Act as primary business partner to IT for governance and master data requirements.


Compliance & Risk Management
•    Ensure adherence to data privacy, regulatory, compliance, and promotional guidelines.
•    Support audit readiness and documentation requirements.
•    Establish controls that ensure appropriate use of commercial data assets.
•    Monitor evolving industry standards and regulatory requirements impacting commercial data management.


Strategic Leadership
•    Develop and execute the commercial data governance roadmap.
•    Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through data standardization and automation.
•    Support enterprise initiatives involving AI, advanced analytics, customer engagement, and commercial transformation.
•    Influence executive stakeholders on data governance priorities and investments.

Experience and Education:

Required Experience
•    10+ years of experience in data governance, master data management, commercial operations, analytics operations, or related functions within biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or life sciences.
•    Demonstrated experience implementing data governance programs and stewardship models.
•    Experience managing HCP, HCO, payer, and customer master data.
•    Deep understanding of U.S. healthcare commercial data assets and ecosystems.
•    Experience partnering across commercial, analytics, operations, compliance, and technology organizations.

Preferred but not required experience:

•    Experience supporting specialty pharmaceuticals, rare disease, biotechnology, or emerging commercial organizations.
•    Experience with commercial data providers including IQVIA, Symphony Health, Komodo, Definitive Healthcare, Veeva Open Data, and similar sources.
•    Familiarity with MDM platforms and governance technologies.
•    Experience supporting CRM and omnichannel engagement programs.
•    Experience enabling AI and advanced analytics through strong governance practices.

Salary range:$190,000 - $210,000


At Dompe, we offer an attractive compensation package to our team members. Any offer would include a competitive base salary (estimate shared above), incentive bonus, and benefits package customary to the position. Actual individual pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
